In the lab repo, there’s a different job to check that you’ve completed your work each week. Continuous Integration (CI) will help automate the validation of your tasks, ensuring your submissions meet the required criteria and standards. Embrace CI as part of your coding workflow.
Extra Tasks
If you’ve been paying attention in lectures, you might have seen the mouseX and mouseY variables used to follow the mouse cursor. This section provides additional opportunities to enhance your skills with dynamic interaction features in P5.
Painting With Smooth Lines
Experiment with mouseX and mouseY variables to create smooth, flowing lines. This technique adds a dynamic and interactive element to your sketches, providing an engaging visual experience for users who interact with your art.
Color With HSB
So far, we have been using RGB values to specify colors, but P5 supports other color modes. Dive into HSB (Hue, Saturation, Brightness) to bring a different palette to your projects. This method allows for more nuanced and vibrant color control.
Draw With Arcs
P5’s ellipse and rect shapes each take four parameters (x, y, width, height), but there are other interesting shapes that take more parameters. Experiment with arcs and other shapes to add complexity and sophistication to your art pieces.
